Friday Update

Total word count: 5,947. Fiction: 2,055. To meet the new goals, it would have to have been 10,000/5,000. So I’m about halfway there.
I’ve learned a couple things from comparing last week’s success with this week’s non-success: I really need to work in the mornings. For the past three days I’ve done something else first, and my subsequent performance has been awful. Also, I can’t let the cats out until I’ve finished. One of them is in training, and it takes about an hour of vigilance with the spray bottle before he’ll leave the curtains alone. Destruction of home decor is distracting.
